The HBO Roach Motel was one of our fi rst commercials, this job required a very small diameter 6mm neon tubing that was very difficult to process due to the heat created by the bombarder.
P. Diddy – “Bad Boys For Life” [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) (2001)
P. Diddy’s ”Bad Boy For Life” was our first music video. These letters were six foot tall white neon letters and appeared on the stage towards the end of the video.
Con-Air Movie – Hard Rock Hotel Guitar (1997)
The Con-Air movie was a challenging project. This job called for a seven foot tall replica of the iconic Hard Rock Hotel guitar. We used the same 6mm glass that we used in the HBO commercial. This glass tubing is diff cult to bend and extremely hard to process due to the low melting point of thin wall, small diameter tube!
Paul’s Neon Signs – First appearance on American Restoration
“The Pick, the Pawn and the Polish” (2011)
It was a great honor to be featured on the History Channel program “American Restoration” three years in a row, this was our first episode. Even though the sign was rusted and all of the neon letters were either broken or missing our experienced team was able to make custom paper patterns that we use to bend all the neon lettering and bring this vintage sign back to life. This Co ffee Shop sign was located in the Arizona desert. John Wayne used to frequent the co ffee shop during breaks while fi lming some of his western movies.
Neon Sign Making at Paul’s Neon Signs in Las Vegas (2011)
Here is a video of how we make neon signs. It was produced by Scott Roeben with vItalvegas.com. This shows how we bend the glass tubing to produce all types of letters and shapes. When the neon units are fi nished we then send the units to the neon charging station to fi ll them with argon or neon gas. After they are charged, we paint over the areas that connect the letters so they are not visible when the sign is on. Then we mark the backing to drill and install the tube supports that hold the neon in place. Our team of professional benders has over 40 years of experience!
